Universal Power Flow Controller (UPFC)

High-frequency MOSFET semiconductor platform engineering real-time voltage, impedance, and phase angle regulation to eliminate electrical losses.

[ ACTIVE SEMICONDUCTOR PLATFORM ]

State-of-the-Art Power Flow Regulation

The Universal Power Flow Controller (UPFC) manufactured by PRA Energy Solution is an active semiconductor-controlled system designed specifically for highly inductive environments such as water works pumping schemes, continuous-duty motor drives, and industrial manufacturing plants.

Unlike traditional capacitor-based APFC panels which are static, slow to respond, and prone to harmonic resonance, the UPFC uses high-speed MOSFET semiconductor switching to dynamically regulate phase angle, reduce current draw by 10%–15%, and maintain a unity power factor under rapid load variations.
